When we are in Charleston, we can’t seem to stay away from Virginia’s on King. They are soooo good to us. We stopped in to sample the Fried Chicken Night special. Every Tuesday evening, starting at 5pm, you can get three pieces of chicken, two sides, and a dessert for only $13! Go back and re-read that because you won’t find a better deal.
We are big fans of pimento cheese! Spreading it on cucumber slices was new to me. Tasted just like summer!
Chicken Night Special: three pieces of fried chicken (Preston would be so jealous if he saw this, he loves their chicken!) paired with mac ‘n cheese and squash casserole.
Do not be deceived by these cute little dishes. Like Mary Poppins’ bag, the portion was endless.
I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. Even though the chicken looked (and smelled) delicious, I will ALWAYS choose seafood. Virginia’s has a Market Fish Special – I took our server, Jake’s advice and gave it a try. On this night, the fish was Halibut with mushroom gravy over rice and green beans. The fried shrimp was a delicious bonus. Thank you, Jake, I was NOT disappointed. Well, I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t clean my plate.
In case you didn’t know, caramel drizzled over Banana Pudding will be in Heaven.
Virginia’s is located on the corner of King and Hutson Street. Be sure to tell them we said hello when you go Tuesday night! Thanks, again, Holy City Hospitality and VOK for hosting us, we love you!
We are happy to be home this week. The kids are enjoying Vacation Bible School at church each night. I’m helping mom teach first and second grade, so we’re not crazy at all.
Andrew is back with us this summer! I’m sure we’ll have plenty of adventures to share with you.
HAPPY TUESDAY!
