JP Is 17

JP turned seventeen Tuesday. I was emotional for obvious reasons. Just yesterday I sat in the porch swing waiting on the mailman to deliver a letter saying that our adoption was out of PGN (Guatemalan government, aka hell) and I could go and get my baby! Now, he’s one year away from being a legal adult. How did this happen? “Mom, in a year I can register to vote,” he said. Wow. Although, I was proud that, that was on his radar.

Let’s move on ’cause we ain’t talking politics here…

This was the first year school was not out on his birthday. We missed celebrating with Andrew and Preston. Yes, Preston is officially back in school – that’s another story for another day. CJ and Laurie, aka Larry, joined us for lunch at Grill Marks at the mall (JP’s current favorite).

Papa took his lunch break at Grill Marks!

Gaga and Papaw came over first thing in the morning to see him, before he even woke up! 😆

I say it every year, but I can’t believe how fast time flies. I have to say it every year – it’s not slowing down. I woke up in tears Tuesday because JP was seventeen and because Preston started public middle school. I went to bed in tears because JP smiled all day long and Preston’s truly gonna thrive. (Maybe a little too much!)

I will forever see them this way!

I’m overwhelmed and so grateful for the goodness of God.
