A little of this, a little of that

First things first. Jackson turned four last weekend and none of us can believe it. Where has the time gone? He’s lovely. We’re all just so proud of him and can’t wait to watch him continue to grow + learn.

This picture definitely deserves a spot. Pure happiness.

Last Wednesday mom, Deb, JP and I took a road trip to Atlanta to see the Braves play.

If you go to a game – or Battery Park – stop in Terrapin Taproom. The BBQ is great. JP has decided he loves the chicken tenders, so it’s become our go-to spot.

The game was, by far, the best one we’ve been to so far. Acuna stole his 70th base! It was so exciting to see in person. JP even stood and cheered because his dad got to run out and change out the base. You won’t hear him say it, but JP might be learning to like the game just a little bit.

We’ve been on… what should I call it… a nostalgic trip lately. When we visited the Earl Scruggs Center, we stopped by my grandparents’ grave.

You can see how the bottom is discolored. We’ve decided we’re going to visit once a year and clean it. The headstone beside theirs is completely black – you can’t even see the names. I don’t want that to happen with ours.

This is the house that Cecil built (my grandpa). Growing up, my family drove to Shelby and had dinner at this house every Friday night. Our whole family. Look at it now. Makes me sick. You can’t even see the front door because of all the trash. Surely my grandfather is turning over in his grave.

Back in Greenville, we rode by the house where my dad grew up – the parsonage behind Poe Mill Baptist Church.

I told you. On this day, we were really in our feelings.

It’s been a busy week. October is our favorite month. We’ve been working overtime to create creepy content for our newsletter + the Greenville site.

I’m not going into detail here but we finally made it out to Oakwood Cemetery in Spartanburg – aka – Hell’s Gate! I’ve wanted to go forever. It did not disappoint! The first thing we saw upon arrival? A handful of Cothran graves! Please note the giant hole here. What in the world?!? Or should I say, what not of this world?!?

A couple of them date back to the 1800’s. Obviously we’re gonna dive in deep to figure out if there’s any relation.

The very back of the cemetery is considered to be the most haunted. I talk more about that in our story!

Stay tuned…
