Happy 2024!
I cannot believe Christmas has come and gone. What a whirlwind. At least it was for us. Low-key tho, which was good. The boys were, once again, spoiled. Everything they got (which was exactly two things a piece) cost four million dollars. They’re happy, but we’re glad it’s over. The tree, we so carefully chose, is already in the ditch waiting to be picked up.
Faye and I are kicking off the New Year with a trip to Savannah, GA. I’ll be sharing our experience with you at the end of each day!
DAY ONE:

Printmaker’s Inn is unreal. Our new friend, Peter, might be more of a history buff than we are. He and his wife acquired the property (originally in Connecticut) and have worked tirelessly to restore it to its 1600’s charm. I’m not going to share all the delicious details here. We’re working on a story for the newsletter and the Greenville site. I’ll share the links when they’re published.
For now, let’s take a look at our room…

This room was the bedroom for the head of household in the 1740s. Be still my history-loving heart.

The entire area is gated. You need a code to get into the courtyard. Our car is parked in the other side of the wall.
Peter shared a whole list of dining recommendations. We decided to try a spot called Treylor Park – the name grabbed our attention! Clever, huh? The food was fantastic.

I ordered fish tacos. The Grouper was fresh and the tortilla shells were very soft.

The entire menu was unique. Mom ordered Chicken Pot Pie & collards. The chicken pie was rolled up and fried in a burrito! (I told you it was unique).
SO, SO GOOD!
We left the restaurant (full + happy) and headed to check out two local cemeteries. Unfortunately, both closed at dusk. We’ll have to try again tomorrow.
Fast forward to right now. We’re back in the room researching and writing… in our pajamas!
