Savannah Travel Diary|Day Three

I just took THE BEST shower. I’ve never experienced water pressure like that. Nice job, Peter! (Printmaker’s Inn).

We leave the inn today and I’m sad. After a short morning on Tybee Island, we’re heading back to Greenville. Traveling home is bittersweet. I miss the kids (sorta 😉) but there’s still so much I wanna do here. Guess we’ll have to come back.

After we check out, we’re heading to Tybee Island. I want to walk to the top of the lighthouse and there’s a restaurant we wanted to check out. I’ve never been to the little beach town. Have you? The only thing I know about Tybee is that middle schools take students there on a field trips. I didn’t get to go. I remember feeling jealous of my friends who went. Come to think of it, I wonder why Faye and Jack didn’t let me go? They allowed me to go with the school to Disney World. That’s something I’ll be asking her today! 😆 (Spoiler alert: she won’t remember!)

TYBEE ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE

The lighthouse was magnificent. All 178 steps!

NORTH BEACH

Y’all know we had to see the ocean. It’s been too long. North Beach was beautiful. Lots of parking and easy beach access. There was even a swing on the beach. We were hoping to relax but some man hogged it the whole time.

North Beach Bar & Grill
Grilled Shrimp Tacos (of course I ordered the tacos)

We were so hungry. North Beach Bar & Grill was the perfect spot to grab a bite. I wish I had taken a photo of mom’s Crab Cake Sandwich – it was so big and so fresh and so YUM!

After Tybee, we hopped on the road. This was the most wonderful trip!

Stay tuned. The island was full of history. We’ll be publishing (way) more details on the newsletter and Greenville site.
