I wrote on social media that this past weekend was good for three reasons. 1) I spent so much time laying in bed, relaxing. 2) I spent time around the table with people I love. 3) tacos.
When I get in the habit of eating well, I become obsessed with tacos. That’s the scenario I’m sitting in right now. I’ve not been eating a ton of red meat (not cutting it out completely, just eating less of it). I’ve been filling my tortillas with shrimp and fish. Although, nothing like what we had on the coast in Savannah. Take me back!
Speaking of the coast… mom, Laurie and I are about to book a BIG (long weekend) trip in April. I barely mentioned the destination as a possible celebration spot for my book release. Let’s just say Faye and Laurie are about to take their first flight, AND Faye is about to hop on a ship for the first time! Merry Christmas to us, from Jack! I am dying of excitement and will share more once it’s finalized.
Working from home is so weird. All of my days run together. With Preston out of school for MLK Day, tomorrow will be Monday. Today’s been a nice day. I’ve been working on three manuscripts simultaneously. I had them all pulled up on my laptop and just clicked back and forth. I can’t always do that, but it worked well this time. No word yet from my publisher. I was told to expect a long wait in this final stage, but it’s been hard. I am about to pass up a huge opportunity for the first of February because I don’t have my release date. I keep telling myself that good things come to those who wait. Right?
It’s going to be a busy spring. I was just telling a friend that it’s overwhelming when I think of it. Ya’ll know I’m much more comfortable behind the keys than in front of a crowd (no matter the size). Public speaking and “presenting” have NEVER been my forte. This will be interesting.
Both boys are doing well. Preston is making A’s and loves school! He tries to pretend that he only likes the socializing part, but we can tell he gets excited over the academics. Where in the world did he come from?!?! JP is starting piano lessons next week. He seems excited. I can give him a music credit, which is good.
Things are the same with Jack and Faye. She is subbing (sort of) regularly at Northwest to stay in Preston’s business. Laurie is working with me. She is the brains behind my new manuscript that we hope to offer this publisher. We’ve also learned she’s an artist. She’s been working on sketches for several projects and staying busy.
Cheers to a happy Tuesday, ya’ll!
