Good morning! Laurie and I are heading to the Earle Scruggs Festival in Tryon, North Carolina! This is our third year covering the event and we love every second of the action!

In an attempt to stay current here on this blog, I thought I’d carry y’all with me through the weekend. We’re leaving town around noon (right now it’s 8:54 am). At the end of today, I’ll share photos and a few words from the day.

I love this particular job for so many reasons. Obviously the music is the best part, but I have to give a shout-out to Victory Lap Media, the PR firm who handles the festival. They take such good care of us! They set us up in a nice media lounge with charging stations, snacks, and (most importantly) AC. For a procrastinator like me, it’s so nice to be able to write stories and blogs on site.

One thing I’m looking forward to this weekend is hearing The Steeldrivers. AKA, the band Chris Stapleton used to sing with. I’m sure he won’t be there but, just so you know, I will DIE if he makes a surprise appearance. Either way, I know they’ll be awesome. They’ll be on tonight, so stay tuned!
