Movie Review|What Comes Around

At this point, I don’t know what would happen if I had to go back to work outside of my house. I don’t sleep in. On a normal day, I take Preston to school. But it is not an exaggeration to say that I stay in my pajamas eighty percent of the day. Unless I have somewhere to go, I do not get dressed. Today, I was thinking back to those years of early morning bus duty. No, thank you.

All of that to say, it takes me so long to get moving. This morning, I woke up with a headache. I told Laurie I didn’t want to turn on my laptop or phone until it went away. “I saw a preview for a movie on Hulu that looks like it might be good,” she said.

What Comes Around. Have you seen it? The trailer made it look good, so we watched it.

Eric and Anna meet in an online poetry forum. I guess you could say it was love at first chat. They “fall in love” over months of text messages and FaceTime calls.

I was going to pause here and talk about how weird that would be. Granted, I’ve never met someone on the internet and formed a relationship with them, but I did kinda, sorta develop feelings for someone before actually meeting them in person. How hard would you judge me if I told you I talked to said person till four and five in the morning on many occasions?! That was a long time ago. I better move on…

I’m not going to tell you much. All I’ll say is, don’t be fooled by the trailer. It led me to believe I was about to watch a psychotic stalker terrorize a family. False! Everything about the plot surprised me. Hang in there for the first twenty or so minutes. For a hot second I thought I might be bored.

Promise me one thing. DO NOT read the reviews online. Number one, you’ll read the plot and, trust me, it will ruin everything. Number two, the reviews were not good. One group gave it ONE star. Not sure what these people watched – I do not agree!

Is it the best movie I’ve seen? Heck no. But it’s definitely worth one hour and twenty five minutes of your time.
