The biggest thing we did this weekend was MadWorld Haunted Attractions. I wrote all about it in the newsletter (that I didn’t get published till late last night because I’m behind in life). I won’t go into details here, but it was an exciting time!

JP doesn’t go on the actual trail, for obvious reasons. We went early to experience some of the behind-the-scenes activities. He’s not rattled by the characters – it’s the crowds, lights, and sounds that spook him. BTS was perfect. This year, there is an Evil Nun church on the trail. JP was bummed to miss that part. One of the owners, Joseph, allowed him to experience it without the crowd and extra stressors.

I’m sure it wasn’t a big deal to Joseph, but it meant the world to me. It’s heartbreaking to watch your child (or I guess he’s an adult now) miss out on so much. The “small” gestures from kind people are HUGE. JP’s night was special. Be sure to check out the newsletter if you haven’t already. $7/month drops one newsletter in your inbox each week!

JP and I are heading to Atlanta tomorrow. On one hand, I’m super excited because he and I never travel together. I’m looking forward to one-on-one time. On the other hand, I am SO NERVOUS. It will just be us for the first night (I’m taking him to a concert). I’m praying he doesn’t get overwhelmed and can keep his anxiety under control. I won’t have “back up,” for lack of a better term. Maybe that sounds crazy, but it is scary. I’ve expressed it a gazillion times. One of the positive sides of living with family is I don’t have to face the hard days alone.
I’m probably jumping the gun. We put JP on medicine months ago, and it’s been a game changer. I truly don’t expect any issues. If you pray, please say one for us. On Wednesday, we will be heading to Truist Park to see the Braves game (please beat the Mets). JP is not a baseball fan, but he’ll be happy to see his dad!
I am looking forward to the hotel where we will be staying. You’ll have to check back in to see those details! I’ll be writing from the road.
Happy Monday, ya’ll!
