Does anyone love driving in Atlanta? The answer is NO. Traffic was horrible, but JP and I arrived yesterday afternoon and checked in to our BEAUTIFUL hotel! All is right in our world.

I’ll be sharing more about this unique spot in an upcoming travel story. After a long day on the road, we were welcomed by a beautifully (and thoughtfully) crafted charcuterie board and water! Thank you, Wylie Hotel!

I think I forgot to mention why we’re here. JP wanted to see Magdalena Bay in concert at the Variety Playhouse. He’s been looking forward to this night for months!

We got there almost an hour early only to stand in line and let the sweat drip down my back and into my jeans. YUK. It was good we got there when we did, because we ended up with really good seats. Seats are first come, first serve. More on that soon.

Ask me how we got the seats. JP wanted merch, so I stood in line while he sat BY HIMSELF and saved seats on the end of an aisle. Those who know JP, know what a huge deal it is that he sat alone. He experienced a little anxiety during the drive over, but that’s it. If we’re being honest, so did I. Driving in Atlanta does not top the list of things I love. Once we got to the Playhouse, both of us felt much better. I was (am) so proud of him for being able to stay the whole time. Not only did he stay, but he had a blast!

So much so, after the concert was over, he asked if we could wait behind the venue (in the alley) just in case the band walked out. It was ten thirty. Sitting in an alley in Atlanta definitely did not sound appealing. The things we do for our kids…
Our efforts paid off – sometime after one in the morning, Magdalena Bay walked out! And JP hasn’t stopped smiling!

Seeing him happy is worth more than gold.
We finally rolled back into the hotel a little before two this morning. Sleeping until ten felt amazing! JP is still not awake. He may sleep till tomorrow. We’re supposed to go to the Braves/Mets game tonight. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

We skipped dinner last night and I woke up with the worst headache. Breakfast at the Wylie Hotel was just what I needed.
That’s all for now. I asked you guys via social media if you liked reading one long blog post at the end of our trips, or blog posts at the end of each day. Ya’ll have asked for a blog post at the end of each day.
Stay tuned…
