Good morning. I hope it’s a good (ish) morning. I know power has been restored to many, but many are still without power.
We are headed to Alpharetta, Georgia around noon today. This is one of my favorite visitor bureaus to work with. There is a reason they call themselves “Awesome Alpharetta.”

I’m not going to lie, it’s not been easy to pack and get ready for this trip. I’m not dumb or dramatic enough to compare my feelings to those who experience actual survivor’s guilt, but I imagine it to be something like this. The sick, uneasy feeling in my stomach 24/7 and the lump that has taken up permanent residence in my throat…
Work does have to carry on, to some extent, but my heart will remain heavy.
Even though this is an editorial/media trip, I am not going to post our activities across social media right now. It doesn’t feel right to showcase food and family-friendly entertainment while so many people are suffering. Having said that, I am going to share some of our weekend here for those who would like to follow along. Maybe it will serve as a brief break from reality.
