Saturday in Awesome Alpharetta

If my morning starts off with a HOT made-to-order breakfast, it’s off to a great start.

We had an 11:00 appointment at Immersive Gamebox in Avalon. I’m gonna be really honest. We weren’t sure we were looking forward to this. Nanny and I aren’t exactly what you’d call gamers.

I sent this pic to JP and he said, “why are YOU going in there?” He’s right. If I disappeared, my friends wouldn’t look for me in this building. My gaming experience can be traced back to the early 90’s, I played Mario Bros, for a brief season, on my Nintendo. That’s the last time I held a controller.

Joe and Porscha greeted us at the door. They didn’t look at us with a “why are YOU here face,” unlike my son. Although, if I was a bettin’ woman, I’d say they were probably thinking it! We looked (or felt) a little out of place. By a little, I mean a lot.

Guys. We had a BALL! Not even kidding. Joe walked us through all the steps and we ended up with an overall decent-ish grade!

They sent us out with a whole stack of 25% off coupons. Who’s coming next time, ‘cause we are coming back! This place would be a blast with a group of your closest friends.

Next up, Fairway Social.

Think Top Golf but indoors and multiple sports. I’ll share most of the information and review in our Greenville Travels story but here are some photos…

Nanny and I played golf, basketball, and baseball. We are terrible at everything. No one’s surprised.

There was a group of “regulars” (the hostess told us) in the bay beside us. Professional-type men, living their best life. Roughly every 5-10 mins, they’d glance over. They did not say anything but I could tell they were wondering what in the world we were doing. How do I know? Because the majority of the time we were lounging on the couch, sipping our sodas and talking about how ridiculous it was that we were lounging on the couch sipping our sodas.

Pictured above is a “side” salad. It did take up one whole side of my plate. Excellent.
Nanny loved her pizza. She kept saying, “it’s not greasy at all!”

Pro Tip: order the chocolate chip cookie on the skillet. It comes with raspberry but we left it off.

The food was 10/10. We boxed up enough for each of us to have another meal. Score! Pun intended.

Ignore my finger. It’s what happens when I try to do a shoot without my glasses. 🙄

We are not the athletes Fairway is used to hosting, that’s for sure. The boys and Papa would have been in heaven. You can reserve a bay for any amount of time. Most people start with an hour. The regulars next door (who were silently judging us) typically hang around for four!

It’s a laid back atmosphere. Personally, I liked it better than Top Golf. I felt like it was more intimate and “cozy.” Me describing it as cozy is further proof I’m not their target audience. 😉

Without a doubt, the perfect place for Preston to have his birthday party next year!

After a little bit of walking around town AND a mid-afternoon nap, we headed to Chiringa for dinner. I learned that a Chiringa is a Caribbean kite!

Eat well • Fly high 🪁
Logan hooked us up with the best seat in the house. Except it was outside. Watching Vandy beat Alabama was the sweetest part of the meal.

Nanny got the chicken salad sandwich – loved it. I got a fish taco + a shrimp taco – loved it. And the fries were amazing.

Dear Logan, Thank you for everything, we can’t wait to visit location # 2!

* Logan was born and raised in Brevard. His family is still there. Keep him in your thoughts as he makes plans to try and visit to carry supplies*

That’s a wrap on Saturday, friends. Another lovely day.

Tomorrow is our last day. Are you sitting down? We’re visiting the Slime Lab! 🫣
