This is JP’s last year of “school.” I put that word in quotes because it looks so different for him. When I first started homeschooling JP, we hit academics pretty hard. He took all sorts of classes. Some online he was not very fond of. Over the years, he’s completed a ton of upper-level classes. Because of that, here we sit in his “senior” year with not a lot of coursework left. It’s a blessing because his anxiety intensified for a while. There were days when he wasn’t able to work. This semester, we’ve focused more on the creative side of things. He started taking piano lessons. He’s learning/studying photography and art. Online courses begin after Christmas. He’s THRILLED! <<eye roll>>
JP will not transition into college or the work force like a typical student. As he’s gotten older, we’ve started trying to come up with options for him to make money. He’s worked with me a few times, which will always be an option. Lately, he’s been leaning more and more towards art.
Today, I thought I’d share a couple of his paintings with you.

I am definitely biased, but I think they’re really beautiful. He enjoys watching the colors mix (no surprise there). “It calms my brain,” he says.
These two have sold and he’s been commissioned to paint nine other ones!
He is painfully aware of his differences. My prayer is that this will give him a professional purpose and, hopefully, confidence in his abilities.
I’ll keep you guys updated along the way. If you’re interested in purchasing a canvas, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Saturday Market in TR

I want to give a brief shout out to As The Page Turns in Travelers Rest. When you have the time and opportunity, PLEASE support Amy and her staff! They go out of their way to support local authors and artisans.

We had a another successful day, but she’ll have a handful of copies left on the shelf if you’d like to purchase one!!
Tyler and I thank you VERY much!
