Well, we’ve made it to Friday! Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.
This was a long week. The crazy part is, I was home almost every day. Only left the house a handful of times to run errands and do school pick ups. I think I feel this way because I spent SO MUCH time in front of my laptop. It makes my eyes and body tired. Remember how old and out of shape I am? Yeah, well, the longer I sit, the stiffer I become. I literally walk like an eighty year old woman for the first five minutes after standing up. It’s ridiculous.
I’m trying to work on three manuscripts simultaneously, and it’s got my brain spinning in so many different directions.
I’ve decided to write a fiction novel. I’m not going to talk about it publicly because I’ll be submitting it under a pen name. It’s hard to go from writing childrens books to writing a book for adults. Like I said, my brain is all over the place. I gotta tell ya, I’m almost finished with the first chapter. So far, it’s been the easiest thing I’ve ever written. At least the ideas are flowing easier than any article or children’s story I’ve written. Putting together a chapter isn’t necessarily easy.

Reading so much has helped immensely. I think I’ve read ten books over the past month. I remember when I took my first creative writing class in college. The professor said, “if you want to be a writer, read, read, read!” She was right. The more I read, the better I write. I compared it to a runner. If I wanted to be a marathon runner, I’d run every single day. So, if I want to write books, I need to read every single day! PSA: I will never be a marathon runner!
This week’s newsletter will be another huge book review!
Happy (almost) weekend!
