JP turns nineteen THIS Friday and I am not well. How is that even possible? I say the same thing every year. I feel this way every single year.
All he wanted this year was to visit the Georgia Aquarium. That’s only partly true. He also wants to attend a listening party at an Indy record store in Asheville AT MIDNIGHT Thursday/Friday.
Are we going? Yes. Will I be uncomfortable? Also yes. I’m bringing along my security blanket, a.k.a Laurie, so I will not pass away.

We packed up these cuties and headed to Atlanta. I cannot tell you what it does to my heart to witness these friendships.

These two have been celebrating JP’s birthdays since they were zero years old. I don’t have to use words to tell you how happy he was – just look at the pictures.

This is a picture of Preston touching one of the fish. I can’t remember which kind. This child teen has the attention span of a twenty-four month old toddler. Apparently, he thought we were visiting the Atlanta Zoo. I’m not sure how he got “zoo” from “aquarium,” but whatever. Thankfully, being able to “pet” the fish provided temporary relief from being annoyed that he wasn’t able to “see the monkeys.”
Since when do you care anything about monkeys?

The Dolphin Experience is fantastic and was included in the price of admission. You need a reservation, tho. I downloaded the app and reserved our spot as soon as we bought the tickets. If you don’t want to download an app, there’s a QR code on the desk at Guest Services.

Hello, my name is JP and I have an obsession with stuffed animals. For the low, low price of $118, you, too, can own four plushies from the aquarium gift shop! I’m so thankful he is making his own money now!

JP kept saying, “I love this. I love this.”
That, my friends, was worth the (hefty) price of admission!

We wrapped up the day with a FANCY dinner at McDonald’s before driving home. One might wonder WHY we chose McDonald’s. Well, for one, this lady right here would rather eat a Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal than the steak at Hall’s Chophouse. Since she is the most perfect human and loves our boys like her own, we decided to indulge her.
