Hello From Our Overnight Trip to Avalon

You guys, we cannot/will not stop coming to Alpharetta, GA. If you’ve not visited yet, what are you waiting for? We’ve been talking about this place for how many years?!

Well, now they’ve opened a new hotel RIGHT IN AVALON (their fancy, shmancy shopping/entertainment district!) Obviously we had to check it out.

Fairfield Inn & Suites – Avalon Area

In addition to a crisp, perfect room, “Mr. G” and the front desk staff feel like friends now! I swear there’s something in the water here. Everyone is so happy.

I’ll save most of my gushing for our Greenville story, but it’s been another successful stay.

As soon as we arrived, we stopped in Rumi’s Kitchen for lunch.

There is a part of me that would go back just to hang my bag on this magnet-thingy. How convenient. Am I the only person who’s never seen one of these?

I ordered Chicken Kabobs which were to die for, but the real star of the show was this little number right here. Before I put it on the Greenville site, I’ll have to look up its name because I don’t remember 🤦🏻‍♀️. You’ll find it on the appetizer menu – TOMATOES AND YOGURT! That’s in all caps because I’m screaming! Tomatoes and yogurt is NOT something I would pair together. Ever. Our server, Nicole, promised us it was a good choice.

Nicole is officially our new best friend! I’m sure there is a chef-science to the recipe. It’s not like I’m gonna go home and throw cherry tomatoes in my Chobani, but the thought did cross my mind.

Next up, we did a little shopping.

Our first stop was Urban Outfitters for Preston. It’s one of his favorite stores and we don’t have one back home. We hopped on a FaceTime so Preston could pick out everything. Cause, can we agree that picking out clothes for a fourteen year old is not something I’m ever gonna do?!

I promised a shout-out to Wes and Tacory, two of the nicest, most helpful sales associates on the planet!

My interactions with the Avalon staff made the afternoon even more enjoyable than the weather!

We made it to Posman Books! I can’t wait to use that Taco Bookmark!

Five Daughters Bakery was essential at this point. We needed a little pick-me-up. I didn’t take a pic of the inside of the box because, well, it may have been half empty. #sorrynotsorry

After checking into the hotel, we popped into Ameris Bank Amphitheatre to see LIVE & Collective Soul a.k.a, relive the glory of my high school days. Nanny will probably have an entirely different perspective of the night, but she loves people-watching, so the show was equally entertaining for her!

Once again, we were reminded of all the reasons we love this venue.

One nice, obviously long, sleep and we’re heading out the door to check out a new (to us) brunch spot, right smack in the middle of Alpharetta. Otherwise known as Georgia’s version of Stars Hollow. We’ve given it another nickname, but you’ll have to read the Greenville story to find it!

This one’s getting long. I’ll publish our brunch experience in a separate post.

Stay tuned…

*Thank you Awesome Alpharetta for being so… awesome!
