When I’m in the Augusta Rd area of town, one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat is Chicken Salad Chick. I’m definitely in my Obsessed-With-Chicken-Salad Era – cannot get enough! The BBQ flavor at CSC is my FAVORITE! If you’ve never tried it, here’s your sign.
How’s everybody doing? Things are going really well here inside our Family Circus. Do y’all remember that cartoon in the newspaper?

Preston’s high school baseball is in full swing – pun intended. Thankfully, travel ball doesn’t start till May. Once that begins, it’s game on! Another pun intended. By “game on,” I mean, we will barely have a life outside of the ball field. If you know, you know. We are all proud of him!

JP recently had his first official gallery showing with the Metropolitan Arts Council! We wrote all about it in the newsletter – you can read the FREE issue here. To say I’m proud would be the biggest understatement. To say that we drive him crazy would also be an understatement.

Nanny and I read the Tyler book to a couple of classrooms in honor of Read Across America Day.
Book Update: mine and Laurie’s ABC book is in the final stages of development. We’re working with the publisher now on the cover design.
I’ve sent them another manuscript (I had to offer them one more to fulfill my contract) and am waiting to hear back.

Being back at the Meyer Center has truly been heaven. I love every single minute of every day I’m there. I’m only there two days because my forty-eight year old back (and Cothran knees) couldn’t handle more.

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it, but Preston volunteers once a week with me. He gets half a high school credit for “Career Exploration & Service Learning.” He, too, LOVES it! Both of us are counting down the days to Camp Joy this summer!
Speaking of Camp Joy, I’m heading out tomorrow for Camp Joy Florida. I’ll be gone thru the following Saturday. Usually when I leave town, I feel a twinge of anxiety over leaving the house and my responsibilities here. Our family dynamic is a very delicate balance. Remove one person and everything threatens to crumble – and often does! Having said that, I don’t feel anxious at all this time.
Heavenly Father, please let this be a sign that NOTHING will go wrong this year while I’m gone! Thank you and Amen.
I have no doubt my (apparent) twin, Laurie, will take over my duties next week. Can you believe people actually have asked if we’re twins? In addition to her new job, I’m sure she will happily accept the torch for the next eight days. You’re welcome, LaLa, and you can thank me (or cuss at) me when I return.
That’s all for today, folks. I’ll update from the road. Stay tuned…
