Road Trip to Tennessee

We kept the kids out of school Friday (gasp!) to take them to the Ripley’s Aquarium in TN. I’ll share our experience in the aquarium this week, but first, I wanted to post a few pictures from our time on the road. Because, sometimes, the road we travel to get there is more beautiful than the actual destination.

IMG_4044I posted this photo on Instagram with the caption, “Travelers are dreamers who make their desires for adventure a reality.”  Make adventure a goal!

IMG_4049I’m pretty sure we stopped at every rest stop along the way. Thank you, Papa, for drinking alllll that coffee!

Our plan was to eat breakfast at the Apple Barn in Sevierville. Unfortunately, they only served breakfast until eleven so we had to come up with a new plan. Thanks to GOOGLE (where I literally typed in ‘pancakes in Tennessee’) we ended up at FlapJacks Pancake Cabin.

IMG_4053I’ve never had an omelette with so much meat in it. I was full for the rest of the day.

IMG_4152We pulled over on the side of the road (I can’t tell you which road, because I had no idea where we were) for these pictures. The scene was breathtaking.

IMG_4151I wish we had more time here – the boys could have skipped rocks for HOURS!
