Toy Story 4|Movie Review

This weekend I took Preston to see Toy Story 4. Or maybe he took me. We were both excited to finally see it.

Disney never ceases to amaze me with the Toy Story movies. I’ve loved them all. The first one was (and still is) my favorite. I wanted to see number four, but wasn’t sure how I felt about it. I mean, how many times can a group of toys get lost and find their way back home? Right off the bat, I was intrigued.

My hat’s definitely off to the writers. They kept my attention the whole time. The ending totally surprised me! I really want to tell you why I was surprised, but I’ll refrain.

The storyline was not predictable. If you remember, the toys now belong to Bonnie. I love her, by the way. She reminds me of Ann-Marie from All Dogs Go To Heaven. It wouldn’t have hurt my feelings to see a little more interaction between her and the toys.

There were three or four stories unfolding at the same time, without being difficult to follow. Let’s face it, it’s not hard to lose me. Attention Adults: Close out your Instagram app. There are messages you don’t want to miss.

The “bad guys” in this movie were a little (a lot) on the creepy side. Remind me never to get locked in an old antique store overnight. Hello Annabelle.

I wasn’t too crazy about the new character. Sorry, Disney. I guess after three movies about toys, you eventually run out of character ideas. But a spork? Come on! After watching the movie, I understand how he came about and it’s 100% believable. But still. At LEAST give him a real name. Forky. I can’t even type that with a straight face.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie and recommend it. Bottom line, if you enjoyed the first three movies, Toy Story 4 will make you happy. If the previous three weren’t for you, don’t waste your money.

Between you and me, I do hope this is the last one. The ending was perfect and I’ve said my goodbyes.
