*Happy Monday! I’m posting early this week to give you guys a chance to take advantage of this special*
October is here and the weather has finally aligned with the calendar. We set out Saturday to try something different.
One of our favorite spots in town is featuring a special Oktoberfest menu. Since huge television screens line the walls, we knew we’d be able to watch our Gamecocks. It was the perfect day to try a taste of Germany.
In my head, nothing could be finer than Iron Hill’s Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Hello Oktoberfest Egg Rolls! Add Vienna Red Lager Bacon and sauerkraut to bratwurst and the result is a real treat for the tastebuds.
Hackbraten Meatloaf is served with potatoes and red cabbage. A few extra dashes of seasonings and caramelized onion Abbey Dubbel Ale sauce made this entree extraordinary. Meatloaf has always been a favorite of mine and they’ve taken it to a whole new level.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, IT DID! Hubner Schnitzel was a game changer. Pan-fried chicken cutlets, haircots verts and almonds, buttery egg noodles and lemon herb sauce shared a plate with green beans.
I’m so glad you don’t have to be able to pronounce these entrees to enjoy them.
Not that any human would be hungry after these delicious dishes, but no meal is complete without something sweet (it’s a Southern thing). Apple Bread Pudding – the ideal finishing touch. Ice cream and rum sauce compliment the pudding perfectly.
Please take note that the Oktoberfest Menu is only offered through October 17. Don’t waste time getting to Iron Hill Brewery to enjoy food with a German flair.
