Timberdoodle Review|Bear Grylls’ Survival Camp

It’s time to channel your inner Boy/Girl Scout!

dsc07116I’m super excited to bring you our review of Bear Grylls Survival Camp: The Ultimate All-terrain Training Manual. This book is part of Timberdoodle’s 7th grade curriculum kit.

I used it with my thirteen year old son and nine year old nephew. Both were huge fans!

Prior to reading this book, neither JP or Preston had heard of Bear Grylls. That’s where we began. I feel like it’s very important to know who he is in order to appreciate the work that he put into this project.

Bear Grylls could be described in many ways – businessman, writer, lieutenant-colonel in the military, etc. For this post, British Adventurer seems to fit nicely. He is best known for his television series, Man vs Wild.

You’ll find everything from first-aid tips to how to tame a wild camel in the desert (no, I’m not kidding). Each page is packed full of information that your kid will find fascinating. I found it fascinating! I learned SO much. FYI, if you’re lost in the woods, I’m not the girl you wanna be with.

This book can easily be used for both science and social studies.

We spend a lot of time at the beach. On page 101, we read all about sunken treasure and three shipwrecks found to carry the most valuable treasures of all time.

Bear Grylls Survival Camp gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from my family!

*Altho it’s part of the 7th grade curriculum kit, I feel the information can be used with upper elementary age students as well as high school*
