Can you name the ten wealthiest men in the world?
How about eight people who have won the Nobel Prize?
Even one Pulitzer Prize winner?
Me neither. But there are a few people I can name.
- I can name the people who text me every single day just to say hello and to check in.
- I can name every person who sat beside me in the waiting room while my mom was having her heart cath.
- I can name those who were there for me when I went through my divorce.
- I can name friends who want to meet for dinner (at least) once a week because they value our time together.
That one was easier. How about you? Can you name ten people who make themselves available to you? How about eight people who have helped you through a difficult time?
Max Lucado says, “The people who change lives are not the ones who have the credentials, but the ones with the concern.”
It’s certainly not a crime to win the awards, but at the end of the day, is that how you want to be remembered?
I’ve not hidden the fact that I have struggled during this quarantine. I need face-to-face contact. I need social interaction. I’m guessing you guys do too.
In the meantime…
Call your friend.
Send the “good morning” text.

P.S. I know these photos don’t match the text (LOL) but JP picked them out. They are two of his favorites. He says, “Those were taken back when we were allowed to leave our house.”
I’m not the only one who’s having a hard time.
