Life Update No. I Lost Count

The last time we talked, I was in Pigeon Forge. The trip was good. Really good. Just me, Mom, and our friend, Ann. Mom and Ann had been there almost a week by the time I showed up. It was the first time in a LONG time that I was able to one hundred percent relax. We take lots of trips, but they’re almost always work related. I was determined to sign off social media and rest. We spent the days eating at restaurants and hanging out around town. Nights were reserved for looooooong games of Train – if you know mom, you know. I slept till almost nine every morning and laid down for a nap every afternoon. Sounds glorious, right?

I found a new favorite restaurant in Gatlinburg – Jason Aldean’s Kitchen Rooftop Bar. Have you been? I loved everything about it. I’ll definitely go back. I wrote in much more detail in our Travel Guide for the newsletter. (Read it here).

Baseball season is in full swing – pun intended. For both Preston and JP. Preston because of middle school ball and JP because of the Atlanta Braves.

Preston’s season is off to a really good start. He’s actually getting to play some – seventh graders spend a lot of time on the bench. We’re proud of his passion and dedication, but more than anything, we’re proud of his grades! He was ONE POINT away from straight A’s this quarter!

I mentioned in a previous post that JP’s anxiety is at an all-time high. It’s been difficult for everyone. At his last therapy appointment, we discussed taking a medicinal route. I’ve tried for YEARS to keep him off medicine, but it’s affecting his quality of life. I called this week and made an appointment with a doctor. He goes on the fifteenth. I would appreciate it if you guys would pray for him. I saw a meme the other day that said, “Please show grace, everyone is exhausted by life right now.” Isn’t it true? For everyone, for a million different reasons. I’ve decided to go to therapy. I’ll be sharing all the reasons why in an upcoming newsletter.

There’s nothing new to report with Jack. He is still working and playing golf! Mom had a remarkable visit with her cardiologist a couple of weeks ago. Her heart is functioning better than EVER and we are giving God ALL the glory for that miracle!

We’re partnering with Carowinds this year. They hosted us for Preston’s thirteenth birthday!

Being there was nostalgic for me. Growing up, our family camped at the campground and had seasons passes to the park. I had not been in YEARS. The boys rode every coaster, some more than once. Not me! Remember the dizzy spell I had last month? Yeah, I have no desire to ever experience that again – no more roller coasters for me. The weather could not have been more perfect. We had a wonderful time!

Who watched the Eclipse? You know JP was all about it!

Happy Tuesday, y’all!
