Friday
Good Monday morning! How’s everybody doing? I left for the low country Friday morning and just got back last night. Friday we rolled into town and pretty much straight to Hanser House. I did not take pictures, but the food was delicious, as always. I had flounder and shrimp. YUM, YUM, YUM.
Saturday
Greenville covers the Holy Smokes BBQ Festival at Riverfront Park. Last year, it was a nightmare – rained the WHOLE time. We were soaked. Taking pictures and videos in that kind of weather isn’t fun. Not this year! We had nothing but sunshine and blue skies! A lovely day!
Mom wasn’t able to join us this time – I wrote all about that here. I had BIG feelings all weekend.
Lynne and Deb went with me and we had a great time.

Snapping a pic by the water was on my To Do List. We stood in line for this plate of food because we’d already eaten our plate of food, LOL. Instagram vs Reality. If you could have seen the faces of the people around me while I tried to take this picture. Let’s just say, I was on the ground and not in a comfortable position. We were laughing the whole time – I gave up on trying to explain myself to strangers a long time ago.

After the festival, we took Deb to one of my all-time favorite spots in Charleston – the Old Charleston Jail. If you’re not familiar with the back story, read our story from a few years ago.

We drove to the Dock Street Theater. I didn’t realize you could walk inside (unless you were there for a show). Unfortunately, there was a literary festival going on, and we weren’t able to stay. We’ll definitely be back for a show next month. If you’ve never been, add it to your list. The history is fascinating!

Before driving back to Pawleys, we strolled the streets for a bit. Not long, because Clemson AND Carolina were playing!
Nothing beats the backwater sunset.

The rest of Saturday was spent alongside college football and pimento cheese sandwiches.
Sunday
Sunday morning was lazy, which ya’ll know I LOVED. Before heading out, we grabbed patty melts from the Litchfield Diner.
As much fun as we had, I was happy to get home. This week isn’t too busy. Thankfully. Thursday, we’re heading back to Charleston for a long weekend. Barring anything crazy coming up with mom’s pulmonology appointment today, Nanny will definitely be with us on this trip. We have a beautiful house in the sand. I’m no doctor, but I’ve prescribed her salt air therapy!
I’ll take tons of pics this time, so stay tuned.
