Hello From the Earl Scruggs Festival

Every Labor Day weekend, this is where you will find us!

We LIVE for the Earl Scruggs Festival. For those of you who might not be familiar, it takes place at the Tryon Equestrian Center – one of our favorite venues. I lived over half my life not knowing I was such a bluegrass fan. Today, I’m practically a groupie.

The Avett Brothers are here tonight and I am already dying at 12:15 pm. I’m pretty sure I’ve told you guys about the time I fell in love with the duo. You can read about it here.

Here I am again apologizing for my recent lack of posting.

As always, things have been chaotic and busy in our corner of the world. I wrote all about our new year of homeschooling and my new jobs, yes that’s plural, in this past week’s newsletter.

Yesterday, when we arrived, the temperatures had thankfully gone way down after the storm. Aka, we didn’t die of a heat stroke. At the moment, we’re working from the media lounge which has AC. Picture a press box at a football game. I’m looking at all the people fanning outside right now. Needless to say, I’m not eager to move.

I’ll leave you with a few photos from yesterday…

The Silver Spoon Saloon – a new (to us) restaurant that was SO yummy!
Del McCoury Band (he’s 87, btw, and also in a wool suit)
Main Stage – the lights are always so pretty at night

Currently, there’s a lightening delay. At the moment, I’m fine. If it stretches out and affects the Avett Brothers, you will want to check on me. I will NOT be okay…
