If I sat down in front of a canvas and tried to paint the most perfect Saturday, it would look something like this. I feel like I say it all the time, but this weekend was seriously one for the books. From start to finish – minus the run in with the Highway Patrolman within the first 10 minutes of being in town – we had the absolute best time.

I won’t bore you with every single detail, but I am going to share our Saturday with you.

We slept in Saturday morning. I mean, REALLY slept in. Like, till almost 9:00 slept in. All you moms and dads out there understand how big this is. Mornings like this rarely, if ever, happen.

Around 9:15 we rolled, ever so slowly, out of bed, got dressed and headed out the door for breakfast at the pancake house. Oh my yum, it was good. If you find yourself in or around Surfside beach, pencil in a trip to the Omega pancake house.

After breakfast, we drove to Pawleys Island to spend the afternoon riding bikes and walking/sitting on the beach.

The weather was amazing. Unbelievable really, considering what was taking place at home. Apparently Greenville was cold, wet and nasty.

Not on the island.

Sunny and 65.

My friend, Heather, had never been to Pawleys, so it was really fun to share everything that I love with her.

As you read this, we are (if it’s early) traveling back down to the coast with all the kiddos. Six, to be a exact. Prayers for my sanity (and the well-being of the children) are appreciated. We have the condo through Friday, so we plan to make it home in time for Christmas Eve.

Christmas. Can you believe it’s here?

Man, time flies.
