20170309_091410If you do nothing more than step off the ship and shop in the tourist village, you’ll love Costa Maya. My friends and I commented more than once how much it reminded us of Disney World.

Of course, we wanted to find a local beach and relax for the day (shocker, I know!)

20170309_094340We did not move the entire day. Our food and drinks were brought to us. We even bought souvenirs while lounging in our chairs. It’s like a floating flea market or something. I mostly said, ‘no thank you,’ but I did purchase a really nice bracelet with the Mayan calendar charm and a necklace for JP.

If I had one complaint, it would be that there isn’t much of a beach. The water is amazing and very clean, but it’s not an area where you walk and enjoy your toes being in the sand – there is almost NO sand. On the flip side, it doesn’t cost you a dime to use the lounge chairs and umbrellas (which is not typical) and you’re pretty much waited on the whole time. So if your goal is to park your tail in a chair and listen to the sounds of the sea for a few hours, you’ll definitely enjoy yourself!

I would definitely recommend this part of Mexico to anyone. We had a REALLY GREAT TIME!
