IMG_4535No, we do not beat this kid (although, at times, I might want to). He took an elbow to the eye about a week before this picture was taken and then we let him get sunburned on the beach. We’re awesome.

IMG_4533This is where I should gush and talk to you about the market in Charleston and how awesome it is. Sorry, I just can’t do that. The truth is, I hate to shop. Like, really hate it. So you can imagine how I feel about walking thru aisles that seemingly go on forever in the South Carolina heat, looking at a bunch of homemade stuff (great word, huh).  The only upside for me is the cruise terminal is across the street. I like to pretend I’m there to board a ship headed for the Bahamas!  JP, on the other hand, LOVES the market. I firmly believe his corner of Heaven will look a lot like a glorified flea market. Or the As Seen On TV store – he loves that too!

We always have a blast when we travel. One thing that’s made our trips more fun has been my discovery of Airbnb. I know, I know, the site has been around forever, but it’s new to me. I guess, because we own a time share, it never entered my mind to stay in someone else’s home. As it turns out, it’s one of the best things we’ve tried. Today, I am going to introduce you to our latest find in Charleston.

This house is listed as Beautiful Cozy Home – Premium Living on the Airbnb site. And, let me tell you, it’s just that! Jeffrey Newton is a single father from Charleston, SC and is considered a “super host” with the popular company. Jeffrey was so easy to communicate with. He was kind, helpful and sincerely wanted our family to have an enjoyable time while in his home.

IMG_4512Everything in the house was 100% as described. In addition to the three bedrooms, Jeffrey also provides two “roll-away” cots, which were perfect for the little ones in our group. There is so much more to love about this house. I didn’t get pics of the laundry room, kitchen OR <drumroll please> screened in back porch. I could kick myself for that! Bottom line, as cute as our kiddos are, some days are CUH-razier than others. Professional Photo shoot just wasn’t in the cards on this day. Since our stay, Jeffrey has redecorated, so maybe it’s time for me to book another stay!

I hope this post will help those of you who have been on the fence about trying Airbnb. It truly is SO. MUCH. CHEAPER than traditional vacation venues!

Psst… if you book with Jeffrey, make sure to tell him Andrea sent you!

HAPPY TRAVELING!
