Greenville360 + Our Collaboration w/ M. Judson Bookstore

Happy Thursday, friends!

I LOVE Thursdays because in my teaching world, it is my FRIDAY! Woo-hoo! Don’t get me wrong, I stay plenty busy on Mondays and Fridays around Greenville. I just have two days off from teaching, which is nice.

Today I thought I’d give you a little more detail about our collaboration with M. Judson Bookstore downtown on MainFirst of all, (and for the 100th time), I want to encourage you to visit if you’ve not been. Even if you don’t purchase a book, there are comfy couches and THE CHOCOLATE MOOSE is there for crying out loud! It’s such a perfect place to hang on a sunny Saturday afternoon, or any afternoon, for that matter. Be sure to take advantage of the outdoor seating!

Basically, I am reading one book a month for them and writing a review over at Greenville360. After the review is published, we (whoever in Greenville – or surrounding communities  – wants to join us) meet for a night of yummy desserts and drinks at M. Judson and discuss the story. In simpler terms, it’s a BOOK CLUB! I guess I could have just said that from the beginning.

We’re currently sorting out all the details. When we’ve nailed down specifics, I’ll be sure to let you guys know. I’d LOVE to see you there! The book will be announced across all social media channels and the M. Judson website. I’ll make sure to post it here, too, for those who want to participate. October is a SUPER busy month for me and Greenville360, so we will pick up the collaboration in November.

Last month was a trial run. I read THE NIX by Nathan Hill. You can read that article HERE.  THE NIX was quite an emotional roller coaster for me. I laughed, cried, got mad and pretty much experienced all the feels with this one. It’s a heavy read. Not one I’d suggest throwing in the beach bag. Unless your kids aren’t around. I definitely wouldn’t want to be responsible for watching them swim in the ocean while reading this book. It’s REALLY intense.

I guess that’s about it. Check out the post and I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop for next month!
