In the words of Heather Land, “Okay, listen here…” Please tell me you guys have (binge) watched her videos on Facebook and/or YouTube?! If you have NO idea what I am talking about, it is imperative that you click out of my blog immediately and head over to one of those sites to watch EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of Heather Land’s, I Ain’t Doin’ It videos. You will be dead when you’re done. I cannot even handle it. You can thank me later.
Okay, moving forward…
So this Halloween was going to be very laid back and, if I’m being honest with myself, a little sad. JP (my eleven year old) informed me a few weeks ago that he wasn’t interested in Trick or Treating this year <insert all the sad face + I’m getting old emojis>. Of course, I told him that was fine.
Fast forward to the afternoon of October 30. When he hops in the car after school, the first thing he says to me is, “Guess what, mom! All of my friends are trick or treating, so I think I want to dress up after all.”
What I said: “That’s great, babe, we’ll try and find something for you to wear.”
What I wanted to say: “Are you freaking kidding me?! Do you realize it’s THE. DAY. BEFORE. Halloween?? How in the **** do you expect me to come up with a costume for you??”
For the love.
I (begrudgingly) took him to the Halloween Store (aka, Hell) for him to pick out an outfit. I’m not going to tell you that his costume was from Stranger Things on Netflix because I would have to explain to all the mom-shamers out there why my eleven year old is watching Stranger Things and “I ain’t doin’ it!”
We ate dinner at LTO Burger Bar because they were offering a Halloween dinner deal for kids who were dressed in costumes!
There’s nothing in the world JP loves more than watching me do social media. Can’t you tell?
So, these sweet potato fries were UH-mazing. The next time I go (and there will be a next time) I plan to order these fries + the Banana Pudding milkshake. It’s literally all I need in life.
After we stuffed our faces and drooled all over the Banana Pudding milkshake , we headed to Earle Street to Trick or Treat.
We ended up having a great night. Halloween on Earle never disappoints!
