it’s a bird, it’s a plane…

IMG_1364Nah… it’s the Upcountry History Museum!

IMG_1363Now’s the time to grab your superhero (details on ages at the end of this post) and take them for a visit. That’s just what we did one afternoon last week.

IMG_1369Superheroes and Superstars shares over one hundred pieces of original artwork, including sketches and models. I wasn’t able to photograph the pieces – you’ll have to settle for pictures of Preston on the steps. LOL

IMG_1391The gift shop is home to anything and everything Superhero.

IMG_1398While the exhibit is bright, colorful, and full of familiar faces, it IS a museum and not the ball pit at Chuck E. Cheese. There is an area behind the gift shop with a few dress up clothes and Captain America’s shield, but keep that in mind if you have toddlers in tow. If you want to carry the younger kiddos, (and I think you should), carry them on the FIRST Thursday of the month from 5:30-8:30. There’s story time as well as other activities for kids. Click THIS LINK to read more about Neighborhood Nights. P.S IT’S FREE!

Afterwards, the sun was setting. It was a beautiful time of day to enjoy the grounds.

IMG_1417If you live in Greenville and haven’t visited the UHM, you should put it on your calendar. The museum is full of really fascinating displays.

*The grown-up children in your life (who have always enjoyed the shenanigans of Batman & Robin) will love the history of this exhibit *
