Citadel Graduation|We Love the Low Country

IMG_4218Happy Tuesday, ya’ll! I apologize for not getting a post up yesterday. And if you give me a minute, I’ll come up with a good excuse…

The truth is, I only opened my laptop ONCE this weekend and I’m not sorry. Our little Airbnb was filled with family and friends for Brain’s graduation from the Citadel. (Ten people and one bathroom… how did we make that work?!)

IMG_4219This is Brain. I’m 99.9% positive he will never see this blog. And that’s good ’cause I’m 100% positive he would kill me for posting about him. Brian is my best friend’s son, which in turn, makes him my son too. She claims JP, so it’s only fair.

We are SO proud of his accomplishments. Friday morning (graduation was Saturday) he was commissioned into the United States Air Force.

IMG_4222Somebody pass the tissues because I cried through the entire thing.

After the ceremony, we enjoyed lunch on campus and the senior cadets’ final parade.

IMG_4243I don’t know if it was my allergies or if I cried through this too…

IMG_4248(I mainly want to share this picture because my hair looks so good – not at all matted to my head – I know my fashion blogger friends will be impressed)

Saturday morning we woke up with the sun for graduation!

IMG_4252 After four hundred hours on campus, we packed up in the large bus and headed to the house for a (not so) small reception.

The rest of the weekend was pretty chill. The house stayed FULL so Saturday night, a few of us went downtown for a couple of hours.

IMG_4285We wrapped up the weekend at a local steakhouse.

IMG_4297Thank you, Lord, for this food.

IMG_4298The boys were excited to see Brain. He gave them a cadet hat – I’m sure I don’t have to tell you, Preston hasn’t taken his off.

Once again, I was reminded this weekend of all I have to be thankful for. I am blessed with THE MOST amazing friends (who are family) and love celebrating life’s milestones with each of them.

We love you, Brian, and words cannot express how proud we are to have you serving our country!
