As someone who LOVES to read, I jumped at the chance to partner with Gibbs Smith Publishers to introduce you to their BabyLit series! Baby Lit books is a “fashionable way to introduce your toddler to the world of classic literature.”
Did you know that Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden was first published as a book in 1911?
We were at a family birthday party earlier this week and my cousin’s little girl, Lindi Rose wouldn’t put the book down!
She was smitten from the first page.
Lindi is finishing up the first grade. She learned to read this year and we are all so proud of her. I bet if you asked her mom prior to this week if she’d ever read classic literature, the answer would have been NO.
I don’t remember exactly, but I guess it was around high school when I was first introduced to the classics. Creating a series for babies and young children is nothing short of genius.
Other titles include:
A Christmas Carol, Jane Eyre, Romeo & Juliet, Sense & Sensibility, Wuthering Heights, Anna Karenina… to name a few.
