I would love to tell you that I went to Monkey Wrench in Travelers Rest for the BBQ, but that would be a lie.

I kept seeing photos of their banana pudding on Instagram and I COULD NOT HANDLE it any longer! I had to have it. Let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. It was worth the drive (which was only seven minutes, but still…)

Don’t worry, the rest of the menu gets two thumbs up too. I highly recommend the pimento cheese appetizer. If you love PC as much as I do, you’ll appreciate this dish.

From the BBQ to the sides, the experience was impeccable.

I do have to say, as a parent, more than the food I appreciated the “backyard” feel.

 The back of the restaurant was full of picnic tables, adirondack chairs and corn hole!

I’m thinking we’ll be adding Monkey Wrench as a summer go-to.
