Music Time with Megan Schoenbohm

Happy Monday morning guys! I hope all of you had a great weekend. We spent the weekend in town (shocker, I know!) and things were pretty chill. I’m going to pretend it’s because we chose to relax and enjoy home. I won’t tell you that, since I turned forty, my body is literally falling apart. After visiting a few parks last week, my back almost gave out and I could hardly move.

Today I wanted to introduce you (moms and dads of younger children) to a musician I recently discovered.

IMG_6928Megan Schoenbohm is a musician and mother to Kaia and Xavier. I should probably switch that to mother and musician because being a mother always comes first. She calls them “Boo” and “Bubba” which is why she has titled her new CD project Bubba & Boo.

I don’t typically write music reviews, but there’s a first time for everything, right? When Megan sent me her playlist, I wasn’t sure it would be something I would be interested in. JP is a little old and Preston THINKS he’s a little old. Long gone are our days of jammin’ in our jammies on Saturday mornings. I’m not even sure we ever did that, but I know a lot of families do.

And those are the families I am speaking to today. Megan describes herself as an “earthy, edgy and free-spirited songbird.” After listening to her songs, I would have to agree. Her music career began at the early age of two with pots, pans and a wooden spoons (bless her parents’ heart!) Her music is 100% original, fun, upbeat and full of positive messages.

IMG_6927In fact, I dare you to listen to it without a smile on your face. Don’t tell Preston I told you, but he even asked me to play it again. If for no other reason, the kid loves to dance and Megan’s music brought out the groove in him!

As parents, I know we’re busy, but I think it’s important to cheer one another on when given the chance. You can cheer Megan on by visiting her site and supporting her musical journey!
