Hello from Pawleys Island. We’re staying at our condo in Surfside, but we’ve spent the majority of our days on the island.
Before we left home, Preston picked out a few fishing rods from a friend’s collection. He’s now obsessed!
You know the friend I’m talking about. Jimmy. AKA Buddy. I wrote about him here. I hope he would be pleased with how his treasures are being used here on earth. We could have bought fishing poles at Academy or Dicks. But these? They’re priceless. I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t tear up when he used them for the first time.
We’re having a good time. Mom and I have found a good balance of work and play. Last night, we met family at Creek Ratz for dinner. I wish I could show the videos of nanny doing the Boot Scootin’ Boogie with my cousin, Jamie. She’d kill me. She gave it a good try, but it was a massive fail. Not according to her.
The boys have done a lot of fishin’, crabbin’, boogie boardin’, kayakin’, and swimming. They’ve had a ball.
We introduced Preston to the golf carts in Ocean Lakes Family Campground. We’ve created a monster. I was his age (eleven) when I met Heather. Riding on golf carts and meeting boys was our favorite pastime.
Here we sit, thirty three years later, watching our kiddos follow in our footsteps. Some of you just rolled your eyes, (I’m looking at you Christi), because following in our footsteps might not be the best thing. 😆
It’s been a great week. I miss JP and Jackson though. I’m ready to see them! When we leave here, we’ll pretty much roll into the church parking lot for a week of VBS. 😳 Busy, busy week ahead!
