JP and I read through the book last year as part of his literature course. We were both elated when we saw it was coming to Greenville. Having said that, I couldn’t imagine how in the world the writers would tell the story – the whole story – in light of today’s culture.

They told the whole story. They told the whole story exactly like it is written in the book. It’s important for you to know that because more than one scene will make you uncomfortable. A necessary uncomfortable. The kind of uncomfortable that sparks important conversations and keeps you from growing numb.

The cast was extraordinary. I know Richard Thomas played John Boy in The Waltons, but I was fan-girling because he was Nathan in Ozark! Did anyone else watch Melanie Moore on Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance?!
The acting was the best I’ve seen to date.

Calpurnia’s character could be described as educational. I learned the most from her. Williams may not have had the most lines, but her lines were the most impactful.

To Kill A Mockingbird runs just over two and a half hours with one fifteen minute intermission. I didn’t look at my phone till it was over. “Wow, that was pretty long,” I commented to JP. “Yeah, but I couldn’t tell,” he said. JP has autism and ADHD. If he didn’t get restless, no one will!
I wrote on social media how much it means for JP to attend these shows with me. He is easily overwhelmed by crowds, lights, and sounds. I never dreamed he would develop a love for theatre. Thank you, once again, to the Peace Center for facilitating such priceless memories!

Click here to check ticket availability. There may be a few left for the 8pm showing on Friday!
Lines to enter the Peace Center will be longer than usual due to additional security measures. Keep this in mind when planning your arrival time.
Enjoyed it immensely! I want to read the book again.
