If you’re lucky – actually, if you’re blessed – you find a special friend.
Not just any friend.
If you’re lucky.
JP’s found his. Her name is Caroline.
Sweet Caroline.
They are precious. Well, mostly precious. Precious can be defined as mischievous, wild & 90% crazy, right?
Good. Then, yes, they are most definitely precious.
They ‘get’ each other. They laugh. Scream.
They play and encourage.
In this season of his little life, Caroline is his special friend.
When I was JP’s age, I had a special friend too. His name was Derrick.
He had Leukemia and I had to let him go when we were 13.
I’m pretty sure that’s why I love watching these two. They remind me of us.
We were mischievous, wild and 90% crazy too.
I don’t really know why I’m writing this, except to tell you that if you have a special friend, appreciate them. Don’t take them for granted.
Encourage them. Hug them. Laugh until your sides hurt. Plan trips and make it a point to spend time together. Take lots and lots of pictures because one day the wind will blow.
When it does, your season might change.
And all you’ll have are memories.
