There are TONS of amazing places in and around the Upstate to eat, but truthfully, Sunny Point Cafe is one of the best. Unique is probably the best way to describe it. Exceptional is another.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

  • Parking is limited.  If there was ONE thing I would change, (and there’s literally only this one), it would be the parking lot. It’s too small to accommodate the thousands of hungry people who flock to the place on a weekly basis. There is additional parking behind the garden and, as with most downtown areas, there are pay lots within walking distance. But it is definitely something you want to keep in mind prior to your visit.

  • You WILL wait to be seated. I could write a million colorful words in praise of this restaurant, but the greatest testament to it’s ‘fabulous-ness’ is the amount of bodies standing in line outside their door. You need to be prepared for a wait. Obviously Friday and Saturday evenings are the most crowded. There’s a mini coffee bar outside where you can serve yourself a delicious Cup ‘O Joe while you wait. If strolling down the quaint little mountain street sounds like a better idea, you have the option of leaving a cell number for the hostess to text you when your table’s ready.
  • They grow their own food.  One of the reasons they have limited space for parking is because of the garden. Yep, you heard that right. Sunny Point Cafe grows their own ingredients right behind your parked car! That’s not something you see at every restaurant in town. Like I said, unique. Be sure to walk through. It feels like you’re walking through the pages of Peter Rabbit!

I sincerely hope you carve out time in your schedule to visit. You WILL thank me later. After you return, shoot me an email and let me know what you think!
