food diaries: entry 3, Bellacinos

In South Carolina, we like to play in the snow and eat pizza outside in the sunshine all in the same week.

One of the days we were out of school due to snow, we took Preston for pizza at Bellacinos downtown.

img_20170113_214520In case you’re wondering, I DID NOT eat pizza!  Believe me, I wanted to. I am not saying pizza is bad because it doesn’t have to be. I just wasn’t hungry. I am trying to get in the habit of ONLY eating when I’m hungry. Not when I’m bored or when other people are eating in front of me.

If you are looking for a place to get really great pizza, put Bellacinos on your list. Preston ordered a small cheese pizza and devoured it. They also have yummy subs. Mom ordered a philly cheese steak sub and raved about it for the rest of the day.

My cup of water was AMAZING!  <insert dramatic eye roll and all the sarcastic emojis>

Obviously pizza isn’t a food I can eat often. Typically the toppings are a little greasy and there’s way too much cheese. Please understand, this is not a bad thing, it’s just the reason I can’t eat it very often. It is definitely the reason it tastes SO good!  I began snooping around for healthy alternatives. I found a really great one made with cauliflower crust. I’ll definitely share it with you sometime.
