Preston kept his uniform on after his game last Saturday and headed down to Fluor Field to see the Greenville Drive.
I can’t tell you how excited Preston was to attend the game. He’s become quite the little baseball fanatic! We had to stop by the Team Store to pick up a few essentials.
Have you guys been to the field lately? They’ve made some really significant changes. One of my favorite additions are these HUGE baseballs outside the gate on Main.
Does this statue look familiar? If you’ve eaten at Smoke on the Water (and you really should eat at Smoke on the Water) you’ve seen it. This guy used to reside on their patio! I don’t know about you, but I think he fits in nicely right here.
Unlike yesterday, (what’s up with all the rain), Saturday night was perfect for baseball.
Preston carried his glove the entire time and was so disappointed he didn’t catch a foul ball – LOL. Poor guy! I told him he could try again next time.
I didn’t play sports when I was Preston’s age. Actually, I didn’t play sports at any age. In fact, those of you who know me are laughing to yourselves. I’m so thankful he has the opportunity to be a part of something as wonderful as little league. It’s so much more than a game. The memories he’s making now will follow him through life – and I hope several of is teammates will too.
I’m thankful to a ball club like the Greenville Drive who really cares about community and their fans.
Especially the little ones.
