It’s important to slow down, take a deep breath, relax and refresh from time to time. I don’t know about you, but this life is anything but relaxing. Hellooo…that’s why we travel so much. It’s the perfect way to escape reality!
While my soul is happiest on the coast, one of my favorite places to rejuvenate is in a little mountain town called Flat Rock. Nestled on the outskirts of Hendersonville, Flat Rock is home to Bonclarken – an ARP conference center. A couple of my favorite people in the world spend several weeks there during the summer and we love to visit them.
For those of you who don’t know, this is my girl, Bailey. Once upon a time, when I was much younger (and prettier and skinnier and…), I was Bailey’s nanny. Obviously this photo doesn’t mean much to you, but to me, it’s a picture of what my heart must look like on the inside (minus a couple of cuties, of course). Nothing makes me happier than knowing how much these boys love this girl.
This was Preston and JP’s first time at Bonclarken and they had a blast!
The world’s problems can be solved while rocking on this porch.
Thankfully, Flat Rock is only about a thirty minute drive from our house.
BONCLARKEN HOSTS A CAMP FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN AND ADULTS CALLED, CAMP JOY. I CANNOT TELL YOU THE BLESSING I’VE RECEIVED OVER THE YEARS FROM VISITING THIS CAMP. I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO WRITE AN ARTICLE ABOUT CAMP JOY FOR THE GREENVILLE360 WEBSITE. I WILL SHARE THE LINK ONCE IT’S PUBLISHED.
