Friday’s Favorite: LEGO Land, Atlanta

Hey, friends! I haven’t posted a Friday’s Favorite in a while. Today seemed like the perfect day!

As most of you know, we took JP to Atlanta a few weekends ago for his birthday. He asked to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Atlanta. Weird, right?! I mean, not that there’s anything wrong with Hard Rock (I love Hard Rock!) but who the heck drives 3 hours away to eat a birthday dinner?

Apparently we do.

Anyway. I thought it would be cool to visit LEGO Land while there, so we booked a hotel room and started planning. Naturally, I turned the trip into a “job” and took pictures and wrote up an article for one of the Greenville sites. For that reason, I am not going to share everything about LEGO Land today. As always, once the article is published, I’ll share the link with you.

I do want to share a few of the pictures I took and tell you that it was THE MOST FUN! Seriously. I don’t really know what I expected, but I know I wasn’t planning on having as much fun as I did.

This birthday was definitely one for the books.

IMG_4575We booked a suite in the middle of downtown so we wouldn’t have to drive anywhere. When you’re staying in Atlanta, it’s worth the extra penny (or 10) not to have to move your car. Trust me.

IMG_4583Don’t you just love Preston’s expressions? Or lack thereof. Poor kid…

IMG_4594They were so nice about letting us bring JP’s cookie to the table. Our waiter was THE. ABSOLUTELY. BEST thing about life in that moment. His name was Chris and I will never, as long as I live, forget how he made my 11 year old feel on his special day.

IMG_4596His firework-like personality was contagious and made the whole experience.

We checked out of our hotel around 10 the following morning and headed to LEGO Land.

Okay, that’s about it for today. I hope you guys have a GREAT weekend. I’m off on Fridays and Mondays now (hip, hip, hooray!). As you read this, I SHOULD be super busy writing/blogging around town – should being the operative word.

Oh, btw, I promised to send you the link to my post on Camp Joyso here ya go.
