Waterfront Park + Sticky Fingers

IMG_2024Clearly we’ve been home from Charleston for over a week now. I realize this is a picture of Preston, however, it is also a picture of how behind I am in my writing. Or, life in general.

IMG_2030After spending the morning at the SC Aquarium, we drove over to spend time at Waterfront Park. Preston had not been, can you believe that? I’m not sure how that happened. Anyway, both boys are looking forward to returning this summer so they can play on the huge splash pad.

IMG_2033JP learned all about Fort Sumpter this year in school. His exact words to me were, “Mom, take a picture of me staring at Fort Sumpter.”  So I did.

IMG_2043This might be my new favorite photo of JP – his smile is so sincere. Although he looks SO big and that is definitely not my favorite thing.

IMG_2056You see fried chicken tenders and fries. I see (oh so) sweet potato casserole. It was like Thanksgiving all over again.

IMG_2061We had a wonderful experience at the downtown Sticky Fingers. I’m going to be honest and tell you that I really do not like the Greenville location (#sorrynotsorry). It’s one of JP’s favorite restaurants, so it’s nice to know we can count on this one.

I hope you guys are having a good week so far. I’m typing this from my living room, which means I’m at home. Insert all the praise hands. These days it seems we have plans every single night of the week. It gets to be too much. Especially on the weeks when we have weekend travel plans.

I’m savoring every minute here tonight.

As promised, here’s the LINK to the Travel Diary I wrote for Travelers Rest Here.
