Despite all the graffiti, Bald Rock is one of my favorite spots to take in a view. But can we talk about the graffiti for a minute? It really does make me angry that people CONTINUE to spray paint ridiculous messages on every inch of the rock! In the words of Michelle Tanner, “HOW RUDE!”
It was Happy Hour indeed. I won’t tell you that we raced there to see the sunset, only to find out the sun sets behind the rock. Insert all the eye-rolls. It was still a breathtaking scene.
PSA: drive to Bald Rock to see the sunRISE, catch the sunSET at Caesars Head.
We packed a cooler full of snacks and had a great time.
This photo (above) warms my heart. This is Preston and his mom (my sister). Such a beautiful reminder to hold on to your parents, or anyone you love. We’re not promised tomorrow.
This photo turned out a little blurry, but I couldn’t help but share it. Preston was falling off the rock and JP “saved” him – LOL. They were filthy when we left, I had to threaten them to keep their shoes on so they didn’t step on glass, we panicked every time they got close to the side of the rock, but the hour was filled with laughter that was good for my soul.
The remainder of the photos are a result of Laurie’s water bottle rolling down the rock and off the cliff. Apparently, it was hilarious…
Bald Rock is less than an hour drive from downtown Greenville and 100% FREE and natural entertainment. Happy Hour is the best hour on top of the mountain.
Just don’t expect to see the sunset when you go!
