At the beginning of the summer we traveled to Spartanburg, SC, to see what we could get into. Greenville is a very short drive from the town of Spartanburg, but we never go. I promise that’s going to change. We loved everything about it.
Preston was with us and he’s forever begging to play at a park, so today I’m sharing two pretty cool parks we found. Stone Ledge was the first.
There is a picnic shelter, benches, bathrooms and a place to refill your water bottle.
The park is beautiful. If I had one complaint, it would be that there was not a lot of shade. During the cooler months, it wouldn’t be a problem, but the summers are just too hot!
On the way home, we drove the back roads to Anchor Park on Lake Bowen. This one ranks high on my list for several reasons. Number one, there’s lots of shade. Number two, the view is spectacular.
The playground is right beside the landing at Lake Bowen. Preston loved watching the trucks putting their boats in the water.
It ended up raining while we were there. Thankfully, we had our rain coats with us, so we continued to play. It’s not like we’d melt!
Perfect picnic spot, right?
Both Anchor Park and Stone Ledge are worth the drive. Sometimes it’s nice to just have a change of scenery.
I apologize for the late post. To be honest, I’m not doing too well at being an adult today. I’ve not slept well the past few days so I’ve felt like a zombie. I rolled out of bed this morning around nine-thirty. And that’s like noon when you’re a mom!
With it being 4th of July week, we have a busy few days ahead of us filled with food, family and GREAT friends!
