Everyday Andrea|Preston’s Baptism

Preston was baptized yesterday. It was a great day for many reasons. I am SO proud of him. He might make us crazy (at times) but his heart is 100% genuine. He’s very kind and loves his family and friends. He loves his church. I’m not going to attempt to name everyone in our church who has impacted (and continues to impact) his little life. He wakes up early Sunday mornings and begs to go to Praise Team practice.  Every Wednesday he waits anxiously for PaPa to come home so they can go to church.  His excitement is priceless.

My favorite part of the day was the display of support from our friends and family. The pews were filled with the faces of those who are most important to us.

My heart was filled and overflowed with pure joy.

And then there was lunch.

Everyone went to Monterrey for Mexican – Preston’s favorite. I wish I had taken pictures but I try to stay off my phone on Sundays.  You should have seen our table. I think I counted twenty seven people?! I was completely overwhelmed (in the best way). If I said it once, I said it one hundred times… it made me feel SO good to have so many of my people in one place.

Together. Talking, sharing stories, and laughing with one another. Granted, there might have been one or two who got a little too happy with sharing stories – you know who you are!

All day I thought about how blessed we are.  I know “blessed” gets a little over-used, but there’s not a more appropriate word.

Tragedy comes. Circumstances shift with the wind, but at the end of the day, my world is full of people who love me and my family hard and I am so thankful.

I found a quote once that said, “Some people are so poor, all they have is money.”

I don’t have a lot of money. We don’t live in a big, fancy house.  Heck, JP and I don’t even live in our own home anymore.

But I am rich in all the ways that matter.

A big THANK YOU to all of our family and friends who took time out of their busy Sunday to celebrate Preston’s new life with us. We love you to the moon.

And back.
