I get a lot of feedback through social media asking about our dogs. Today, I thought I’d share a quick update.
This is Charlie. Altho, she looks a lot like Sampson in this picture. All of the photos from today are of Charlie. For two reasons…
- Charlie is “depressed,” remember? So she’s always lying around staring at us. Aka, she holds still!
- Sampson DOES NOT sit still. Ever. Taking a picture of him is impossible.
Both fur-babes are doing great. They LOVE to be outside. When it’s not raining (which is never these days), you’ll find them living their best life in the backyard. They love it so much, it has become quite an issue getting them back inside. They refuse to come. 😆
Charlie is our cuddle-bug (as seen above). She loves to be loved on. In the evenings, she will lay on the bed beside JP while he watches TV or plays his games. Her happy place is beside you. She is very stubborn and, even tho she understands them, rarely follows commands.
Sampson is not big on cuddling. I like to call him our “protector.” He paces the floor, ears pointed to the ceiling, just waiting on who knows what! Once he gets to know you, he’s playful and sweet. I definitely wouldn’t enter the house unannounced. Sampson understands commands (we even have to spell most things) and follows them 90% of the time. He’s SUPER smart and loves to be praised.
While having two German Shepherds is a LOT of work, they’ve been a real blessing. I’m so proud of the way JP and Preston take care of them. I never dreamed they would help so much.
Hopefully you’ll be seeing more of them on the blog – I’m working on a fun new project that I can’t wait to share with you!

This is my most favorite post. I love hearing about the fur-babies, and how they are a blessing to you all. I can’t wait to see more pics and hear more about them.
