Another birthday has come and gone and here I sit, 43 years old.

Birthdays aren’t such a big deal when you get older, but my day was pretty great! Actually, it was really great.

The temperature in our neck of the woods has dropped somewhat, thank God. I decided I didn’t want to be inside.

We broadened our classroom and moved into the woods! One of our favorite spots to hike is Lake Conestee Nature Park. They have several trails, all with educational markers.

I didn’t get a ton of photos. I kept my phone in my back pack the majority of the day. It was nice to just be present.

Everyone had a great time! I love living in an area that is so accessible to hiking trails and mountain views. This one is only 25 minutes from our house.

 I’m even more thankful to have these kids home with me every day. With everything going on in the world, it’s a privilege to be able to control their learning environment and provide hands-on experiences each week.

I don’t take it for granted.
