We began reading about the Louisiana Purchase this week with the 4th graders. What better way to celebrate than to eat a Cajun lunch!

The Lost Cajun, here we come…

Preston tried alligator for the first time and loved it. I let them have it (no thank you) while I thoroughly enjoyed the yummy shrimp + crab meat gumbo.

This field trip was Mimi Rose’s idea. She was determined to introduce Lindi and Preston to the beignets! Aka, powdered sugar coated donuts.

I don’t need to tell you they were a big hit!
